Breeding Great Egret

This is one of several photos I capture of this Egret at the wetlands. Originally the Egret had landed on th railing of the boardwalk, but then decided to perch on top of this old dead tree for me to get better shots.

Since it was in the afternoon and the sun was out in full force I used spot metering to make sure to get as much feather detail as possible. Usually, I will also underexpose the shot in this type of bright light and white bird, but this time I didn't and still got a nice result. I should have used f/10 or f/12 instead of f/8 though.
