Snow Egrets really are incredible.. They were once hunted to near extinction for their feathers (to be put on hats!), but thankfully were saved in time and have made a wonderful comeback. They are also called 'Golden Slippers' since their legs are black, but their feet are the same golden yellow of their beaks :)

These are peaceful and elegant looking birds, but once they make noise, you would be very suprised at the racket they make!

that's a nifty shot, it almost looks like the egret is blending in with the background, it makes for an interesting effect
