Well, it has been a while since I have posted anything...

I have been extra busy with work lately, and have spent some time trying to just take it easy when I can and enjoy being lazy. Feels nice to be able to watch some mindless tv (The Office!) once in a while to give the old brain some mindless candy

I have not been out to shoot with my new camera yet, which has been very disappointing, but there is just too much to do right now. I do have some very serious plans for the future though that will require a lot of time out in the field. I just have a few projects to tackle first.

Well, I just wanted to change my journal entry, so now I need to get back to work.

I would like to say in closing though....

Thank you so very much for all of the comments, features and watches! I am really grateful for the continued support, even though mine has been sorely lacking of late!

Well, last night was the South Florida Camera Club's 2007 year end party. There was a lot of gear talk and more food then everyone could eat, and generally a good time all around.

This was the club's first year end celebration and everyone was excited to find out which photos received the most votes from the year's 12 winning photos.

In the end 3 people (2 placed second, and 1 third place) received a copy of one of Annie Leibovitz's books, which could also work as a nice weight for those who like to work out

Then the first place winner received received the grand-prize, which was a brand new Nikon D300!

And the winner turned out to be my wonderful husband (=digitalgrace)!!!

Now for the very best part! After he graciously accepted his gift, my husband then gave a little speech telling everyone he was giving me the camera!

So now I am a very, very happy owner of a D300


Now I just need to clear up my schedule so I can get some time to go play with my new toy. I did take a few test shots earlier and I am already amazed at how well it handles, and the limited amount of noise, even at a very high ISO.

Well, time to get back to work and finish this project so I can play!!!


I would like to say thank you for all of the wonderful comments I have received, and for the new watches! I am really sorry I have not been able to reply very much. I am just really pushing to get this project done, and I have been helping my daughter with some art lessons, so my online life has really had to take a back seat for now. But I do greatly appreciate everything! So, thank you, thank you, thank you!

Not too much to update right now, I have just been really busy working on a couple of web sites and playing mom. I have *tons* of photos that I am trying to organize and process, but there just is not enough time in the day to make more then a small dent in them! I always think that after whatever project I am currently working on, that I will finally get around to getting caught up, but so far it just hasn't happened.

Well, time to get back to helping my son play with his new toys!

No news to report, but I did want to say that ~Jake-C is worth a and I am sure that he would love some comments, and perhaps even a fav or two

He is fairly new, but his gallery is already quite wonderful!

So I was a little late finding out about the new Gallery V2 that the Beta Testers get to play with... but I am up to speed now and have been having fun toying with my gallery, when I should be working

The down side is that only other Beta Testers can see the V2 right now

Hopefully the mastermind programmers of dA will be able to squash all of the little bugs out of it quickly and get it out to other members of dA! But for now I can put up with some of the minor bugs I have found. I really like being able to make the custom folders and sorting images. I also love the ability to add descriptions to the folders, even though I haven't actually used it yet

Well, time to stop playing and get back to work! But, for anyone interested I wrote up a quick little tutorial/overview about the new Gallery...
